Building Information Modeling

WHAT IS BIM?

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the process of creating a 3-D model of a construction project that all trade contractors can work on together to increase productivity in the design and building stages. BIM enables a virtual information model with data relating to architecture, engineering, and construction,to be passed between different factions of a project.

BIM is the future of construction and is rapidly becoming an industry standard for all trades. With our use of AutoCAD MEP and Revit software, along with Navisworks, BIM is an efficient and effective way for all trades to come together to collaborate, communicate, solve problems, minimize on-site errors and inaccuracies, and build better projects faster and at less cost. When all trades of the construction team work on the same model from early design through completion, changes can be coordinated across the project and the information generated is guaranteed to be of the highest quality.

BIM -vs- PREFABRATION

Inderdeo Inc. utilizes BIM to identify opportunities to streamline the installation process by planning and prefabricating electrical components off site. The use of this software makes more information available early in the collaborative process, allowing prefabrication to begin earlier and be used far more frequently and effectively.

BENEFITS

BIM software provides many benefits and uses that are beneficial to both the contractor and customer:

  • Design Validation
  • Construction Planning and Monitoring
  • Improve Productivity
  • Allows for Offsite Prefabrication
  • Visualization
  • Scope Clarification
  • Trade Coordination
  • Collision Detection/Avoidance
  • Reduces Rework and Waste
  • Labor and Material Savings
  • Reduces Change Orders to the Customer
  • Increases Jobsite Safety and Quality
